The Punt Acca: Owen Goulding's three horse racing tips on Monday

(2.48 Hamilton)

Roger Varian's string remain in excellent form and if this three-year-old filly can learn to settle, she could easily ply her trade at a higher level. Shampion was an impressive winner on her third start at Windsor in August and well-fancied for her handicap debut at York last time, she pulled her chance away. That is obviously a concern moving forward, but she defeated Spanish by just over five lengths at Windsor and she concedes just 1lb to that rival today. Provided she can conserve some energy early on, she has an excellent chance off an attractive rating.

Marhaba The Champ(3.23 Hamilton)

Costing 120,000gns as a yearling and closely related to Group 2 Queen Kindly, Marhaba The Champ left behind his opening two starts on the back of wind surgery at Ripon last time. He was travelling well behind the leaders when he was carried all the way across the track, so the fact he was beaten just a length is a massive testament to his ability. An opening mark of 84 does not look harsh and receiving weight from his main market rivals, this looks like a great opportunity to shed the maiden tag.

The Height Of Fame(4.03 Newton Abbot)

Things have clicked for The Height Of Fame in recent starts at Fontwell, winning a pair of 2m5½f handicaps in comfortable fashion. She made all on both occasions under Gavin Sheehan, latterly stringing out the field after travelling strongly throughout. The handicapper did not miss her and a 6lb rise demands another improved display, but she is just five-years-old and should have plenty more to offer for trainer Keiran Burke.
