Bodhisattva was disappointing on handicap debut at Fairyhouse in April but given a 224-day break, he was a promising two-length third at Navan in November. The cheekpieces had a positive effect that day and stepping up in distance should allow further progress. He is just 3lb higher and with natural improvement, this lightly-raced five-year-old can get off the mark for the season.

Mighty River(1.50 Kempton)

Showing plenty of ability in two opening starts, Mighty River made it third time lucky with a comfortable success at Wolverhampton this month. He relished stepping up in distance that day and an extra two furlongs on nursery debut should eke out further improvement. Off an opening mark of 81, with William Buick on board, he can double his tally.

Zealot(2.20 Kempton)

Making his stable debut for Mick Appleby at Southwell three days ago, Zealot missed out by a nose in a bobbing finish. He is turned out quickly in a bid for compensation and connections have reached for the cheekpieces. William Buick takes over in the saddle and that is surely a statement of intent.
