Eldar Eldarov(1.25 Ascot)

There is no doubt that Trueshan is the one to beat, but he was nowhere near his best at Doncaster last time and St Leger winner Eldar Eldarov is preferred. He relished a return to 1m6f in the final Classic and an extra two furlongs will also be right up his street. He is proven at Ascot and will have no problem with the advised conditions either. Receiving 9lb from Trueshan, he can give him a mighty race.

Eternal Pearl(2.40 Ascot)

Costing 700,000gns as a yearling, Eternal Pearl has really found her feet since shedding her maiden at Kempton in June. Her two most recent starts have seen her win at Group 3 level, latterly with a gutsy performance at Newmarket. She had to do things the hard way that day and the stiff finish at Ascot should really play to her strengths. She remains totally unexposed for top connections and may prove too strong in a driving finish under William Buick.

Modern Games(3.20 Ascot)

All eyes will be on impressive Royal Ascot winner Inspiral, but she has been overly impressive the last twice and Modern Games is a real fly in the ointment. He pushed Baaeed hard in the Sussex Stakes and followed that up with a dominant Grade 1 success at Woodbine. Those are serious pieces of form and if this turns into a sprint, he might be the beneficiary.
