The Punt Acca: Mark Boylan's three horse racing tips on Sunday

Daisy Dufresne (2.10 Sligo)

Bred to be useful as sister to Andy Dufresne, Daisy Dufresne hasn't quite hit the heights that might have been expected of her so far, but she looks to have an excellent opportunity to open her account at Sligo on Sunday. Of the 13 runners guaranteed a run in this maiden hurdle for horses who have yet to be placed under rules, seven hold handicap marks. The selection, trained by Gordon Elliott, is at least 7lb clear of all such rated rivals and took a step in the right direction when last seen finishing fourth at Wexford last month. She also represents a team in top form.

Mickey The Steel (2.30 Fairyhouse)

Given he's run to an RPR of 80 or higher on 11 occasions, posting a career-high 88 in premier handicap company two starts ago, Mickey The Steel is good enough to win a maiden on this standard. His 0-20 record, which includes seven seconds, isn't overly encouraging. However, he has run well at this course before and has a significant experience edge over most of his main rivals. Representing a small trainer who got on the scoresheet in a maiden at Roscommon recently, he faces a more manageable task than has been the case with some of his 2022 assignments.

Star Girls Aalmal (4.15 Fairyhouse)

Fourth in the Irish 2,000 Guineas and Jersey Stakes on her last two starts, Star Girls Aalmal is a worthy favourite for the feature Brownstown Stakes at Fairyhouse on Sunday. This Group 3 over seven furlongs looks pretty ideal for the Henry de Bromhead-trained three-year-old, whose rating of 107 sets the standard against some older rivals. She's got a reasonable draw in stall four and boasts a relatively unexposed profile so could yet have more to come.
