The Punt Acca: Mark Boylan's three horse racing tips on Sunday

Flame Bearer (12.45 Navan)

A classy novice hurdler last term for trainer Pat Doyle, Flame Bearer looks a promising recruit to the Willie Mullins team and could turn out a high-class novice chaser this season. He attained a rating of 148 over hurdles - a higher standard than any of his rivals have achieved in that sphere - and is fancied to make a winning chasing debut.

Hercule Du Seuil (1.20 Navan)

It wasn't the strongest of maiden hurdles that Hercule Du Seuil won at Tipperary last month but he created an excellent impression in scoring by 16 lengths and should have the necessary pace for this Grade 3 Gibney's For Auction Novice Hurdle over 2m. He represents top connections and looks the type to show better now stepping into a higher class of race.

Springwell Bay (3.30 Cheltenham)

There are a host of Irish challengers in this Grade 2 Sky Bet Supreme Trial Novices' Hurdle, but Springwell Bay stands out as a serious contender for the home team. Runner-up in the Goffs Land Rover Bumper at Punchestown in April 2021 before changing hands for €155,000, he impressed when winning a Market Rasen bumper on his debut for Jonjo O'Neill and then spent nearly a year on the sidelines. Given such an absence, it was a fully satisfactory return to action when winning on his low-key hurdles debut at Carlisle last month. He should be comfortable in better company and have a big say.
