Nicky Henderson's runner has been consistent in defeat and could get his turn now more emphasis is placed on stamina. He shaped well in defeat when second at Southwell last time and while the winner proved too good, he has since won twice and looks a smart prospect. This switch to a more galloping track and step up in trip should help Farouk De Cheneau while he clearly thrives on this better ground.

Methodtothemadness (2.20 Bangor)

There are some doubts about the going and trip for some of the key fancies in this so it may be best to stick with this recent course and distance winner. Last month's 11-length victory was a career best on RPRs and the eight-year-old may have benefitted greatly from wind surgery, with that her first run since. Good ground is ideal and while she has to compete with a step up in the weights, she had previously performed well off this mark before. The wind surgery may help her just find that extra bit of improvement.

Rose Of Arcadia (2.35 Chepstow)

The Tizzards always rated this mare extremely highly and it has been a switch to pointing which has helped her start to fulfil her big potential. She has won easily on both starts and with confidence back is interesting back in handicap hurdles. She had some promising form in that sphere, including when travelling powerfully into the competitive mares' handicap hurdle on Badger Beers' day at Wincanton. That day she looked in need of a stiffer test so could be better suited to the step up in distance and more testing track. Talented conditional Freddie Gingell gets on well with her and gets a 7lb allowance.
