The Punt Acca: Jack Haynes's three horse racing tips on Wednesday

Abate (4.05 Catterick)

This sprinter gained a deserved win at Newmarket last month and is fancied to prove too good in the 6f handicap. The Adrian Nicholls-trained six-year-old is up 3lb but is well drawn in stall three and should make a bold bid under regular rider Barry McHugh. He posted a near career-best Racing Post Rating last time – 6lb above his revised mark – so arrives in top form to a track that favours those who race prominently.

Guidedbythescience (5.13 Uttoxeter)

Things did not pan out for this mare over course and distance last month and she is worth another chance in the finale. She was caught a bit too far back in a similar event last time but she showed enough to suggest she is on a workable mark when a race is run to suit her hold-up style. It could well work in her favour this time with Bridge Road and The Turtle Said among those that like to race prominently.

River Of Stars (6.30 Lingfield)

This 1m4f fillies' novice looks a fair race for its type but the Ralph Beckett-trained and 92-rated River Of Stars very much sets the standard. She returned with a narrow defeat at Newbury in May, with the third Eternal Pearl routing a fillies' novice by seven and a half lengths on her next start. Despite facing interesting rivals in Dignified and Fine China, River Of Stars should be winning this.
