The Punt Acca: Harry Wilson's three horse racing tips for Cheltenham on ITV
Shakem Up'Arry (1.55 Cheltenham)
He hasn't always delivered on the promise that he's shown, so it was encouraging to see him score on his reappearance. The 2m3f trip was the furthest he had tackled in handicap chases and he seemed to improve for it. He jumped well in the whole and was pulling away at the line at Exeter, which is a stiff track, giving the impression this trip could play to his strengths. He is relatively unexposed at longer trips and his trainer Ben Pauling is flying this season, so he could definitely have more to offer this season.
First Street (2.30 Cheltenham)
His victory carrying top weight at Newbury was impressive, even more so as he was giving 25lb away to the runner-up and at least a stone to every rival. The fourth horse has since franked the form by taking a Fontwell handicap by six and a half lengths, which only adds to his claims. He looked to get stronger the further they went there, and he won a 2m5f novice hurdle at Warwick, so the step up in trip shouldn't be an issue. First Street is highly regarded by Nicky Henderson and there was talk of a Grade 1 next, so this progressive six-year-old could have plenty more to offer now raised in class.
Abuffalosoldier (3.05 Cheltenham)
He looked to really appreciate the step up to 3m at Newbury, where he travelled supremely well and stayed on strongly to win by a length. The runner-up there, Steal A March, franked the form when winning a Pertemps qualifier at Wincanton on Boxing Day off a 4lb higher mark. Abuffalosoldier was only put up 6lb for that stout staying performance and has so much more to offer at this longer trip for Warren Greatex, who has saddled three winners, two seconds and a third from his last ten runners.
