Doncaster Placepot picks: Paul Kealy provides his Racing League opener perm
Doncaster is a no-brainer for a Placepot perm, but it won't be easy.
Galiac is quite a strong fancy for the opener (5.40), while Mercurius Power ran well when penalised last time and can run off 3lb lower here.
In the next (6.10), Alrehb had lost his form when last seen, but he's certainly capable at this level if the break has freshened him up, while Marshal Dan has run right up to his best in better company on his three runs this season and can go close again.
I'm looking for a banker to keep the perm manageable and X J Rascal fits the bill in the juvenile race (6.40). He'd surely have won at Goodwood last week if he hadn't given up so much ground at the start.
Lethal Nymph is the main fancy in the next (7.10) and Mojomaker has been beaten just a nose and a neck in two starts at Doncaster this season, so clearly acts on the course.
Alligator Alley could have the fifth leg (7.40) run to suit, while Sir Henry Cotton has been in cracking form. He was a ground-related non-runner at Goodwood last week, but conditions shouldn't be rattling here.
The last (8.10) is really hard, so I'm going with three. Frontispiece is getting on, but has run well enough on two of his three starts this term and is still capable off his mark.
The other two are Zealandia who beat a nicely treated rival on his British debut when last seen, and Wynter Wildes who has progressed all season and is seemingly still doing so.
