The Placepot: Paul Kealy chases the £100,000 guaranteed pot at Southwell

Colors Of Freedom is forecast to be a short price in Southwell's opener (5.15) under a 6lb penalty, but it was a bad race he won at 33-1 last time and I'm going to leave him out of the Placepot in favour of Furnicoe.

Michael Appleby's three-year-old ran at least as well when second at Newcastle last time and for a while he's been shaping as if he might win his first race.

Haaland is another who looks likely to go off short in the next (5.45) after bossing four weak rivals at Lingfield on Monday, but this is tougher and he wouldn't be guaranteed over an extra two furlongs.

I'm taking him on with Gilded Moon, who does shape as though he needs the extra distance.

The next (6.15) is really hard, so I'll be mob-handed with Tenaciously, who was handicapped after three very quick runs in the autumn, Last Stand, who will appreciate dropping in trip, and Comedian Leader, who ran well last month.

The fourth (6.45) is an altogether classier affair, although there's no arguing with the in-form Eligiblebeing favourite, having won his last two here. The lightly raced Tylos, who could be better than these, goes in too.

The in-form Kodebreakerand Danah Star, who ran his best race for a while here last week, are my two in the fifth (7.15), and in the finale (7.45) the improving Harry Magnus should be very hard to kick out of the frame.
