The Gurkha finally lands big gamble

>>The Gurkha, who had been turned over after going off a heavily backed odds-on favourite on his last two starts in Group 1 company, finally landed a gamble when winning the Qatar Sussex Stakes at Goodwood.

Aidan O’Brien’s winner was pushed to as big as 5-2 in the morning before the money again poured in and he touched no bigger than 2.88 in running on Betfair before scoring as the heavily supported 11-8 favourite.

Galileo Gold enjoyed the run of the race in front and touched 1.71, but couldn’t hold the winner inside the final furlong.
