Most unexposed runner in the six-strong field by some way and represents shrewd connections. Showed signs of promise early in his career before taking a drastic step up in trip when well fancied in the market. Didn't justify his starting price of 5-1 that day, nor on his next start over 1m2f when beaten into eighth of 16. There were signs of encouragement from that run, though, and he duly got off the mark at the sixth attempt when dropped to a mile last time out. He fairly flew home from an unpromising position and has gone up just 5lb in the weights. This track should play to his strengths.

DARK HORSE

(4.30 Chelmsford)

Unpredictable gelding who has it all to do on recent form, especially with likely short-price market leader Agent Of Fortune, who is seeking a quickfire four-timer. However, Ruth Carr's Gunmaker is now ridiculously well treated on past exploits (running off a mark of 52, finished second off 15lb higher in April) and could be sparked back to life now he returns to Chelmsford. His only previous start here saw him finish third off a mark of 67, a race he looked like winning for much of the straight before being headed on the line. He latest outings have been disappointing but he returns from a break and could be ready to fire.
