The Evening Punt: Tom Collins' free horse racing tips on Saturday

GOOD THING

Tyler Durden(5.30 Redcar)

Richard Spencer has a sharp bunch of juveniles and this son of Bungle Inthejungle showed serious promise on debut at Yarmouth when a close-up third behind the smart Mr Kiki. He blew the start that day and raced out the back for much of the contest, but stayed on stoutly to take some place money and recorded a decent RPR in the process. He will have come on for that effort and it's interesting to see that he has entries in a sales race and the Two Year Old Trophy later in the campaign.

AMERICAN ANGLE

(10.44 Saratoga)

This year's Travers Stakes is wide open but I've long been a fan of Bill Mott's Tacitus and I'm hoping this Grade 1 presents a great opportunity for the three-year-old to notch his first top-level success. The son of Tapit is an extremely talented, versatile performer who has had numerous excuses on his recent outings, including when stumbling at the start and having to go wide when runner-up in the Jim Dandy when last seen. He looked unfortunate not to go close in the Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes prior to that, but he has a nice draw today and first-time blinkers should sharpen him up.
