The Evening Punt: Tom Collins' free horse racing tips on Saturday

BANKER

Shrewdness (8.45 Chelmsford)

I'm a firm believer of following improving three-year-old fillies in handicaps off low marks that hail from powerful stables and Shrewdness rewarded that theory with a fine victory at Wolverhampton last time out, scooting clear off a mark of 73 to win by three and a half lengths. The William Haggas-trained daughter of Lawman appreciated the drop back in trip to 1m1½f that day having not got home over two furlongs further on her previous start and looked a horse on the up. She's gone up 8lb for that but Haggas has cleverly booked 5lb claimer Cieren Fallon to take off most of the penalty and anything but another victory here, albeit in a stronger race, would be a shock.

AMERICAN ANGLE

(8.15 Saratoga)

Chad Brown is almost unstoppable Stateside at the moment and this son of Kingman, who he purchased for 120,000gns at Tattersalls in 2017, looked a potential superstar when running down stablemate Doswell on debut at the start of the month. Doswell, an ex-John Gosden-trained inmate, showed a good level of form prior to that contest so it looked a pretty good debut victory. He takes a big step up into Stakes company now, but posted a good figure on that occasion and Brown thinks a lot of him.
