Winner of four of nine starts and described as the best horse Johnny Murtagh trains, Urban Beat looks to have a good chance of regaining the winning thread in the Listed Abergwaun Stakes at Tipperary tonight. The son of Red Jazz developed into a good sprinter early in his career with a couple of wins over 6f at the Curragh (once on good to yielding ground) last summer. He underwent a gelding operation in January and has shown a fair level of form since, including a victory at this level three runs ago, and has excuses for his most recent defeat when completely blowing the start. He was only beaten two lengths by the smart El Astronaute that day and given a clean break, he should feature at the business end tonight.
