The Evening Punt: Tom Collins' free horse racing tip on Friday
IRISH ANGLE
Former Godolphin-owned son of Authorized (purchased for 180,000gns) who got to a peak rating of 95 in 2016 when with former trainer Mick Halford. Steadily regressed but showed he still retained plenty of ability when second over a mile here in November 2017 off a mark of 86 (RPR 89) and has only had three Flat runs since. Has joined Joseph O'Brien, who does exceptionally well on the all-weather here, and should have improved plenty for his hurdling return on Boxing Day. Returns to his favourite venue off a reduced mark of just 72 and has the assistance of Dylan McMonagle, who takes off a further 7lb, in the saddle. Looks a class above if O'Brien has got him anywhere near his best.
