Thebannerkingrebel has not been seen since pulling up in the Cheltenham bumper of 2018 and has had a wind operation in the meantime, so there is obviously plenty of risk involved in backing him to win the Weatherbys Racing Bank Standard Open National Hunt Flat Race at Aintree (5.15).
However, he looked a top-class prospect on soft ground before that run, he won on his racecourse debut by a long way, so clearly goes well fresh, and his trainer Jamie Snowden has his horses in great form.
