Franny Norton is riding well at present and goes to Chelmsford for three rides, the pick being Breathoffreshair (8.45). The gelding has shaped as though he is ready for the step up to seven furlongs.

Ivan Furtado has an impressive 25 per cent strike-rate with his handicap debutants. Naval Officer (2.50 Lingfield) fits the description. The three-year-old colt makes his first start for the stable and has a nice draw.

William Haggas is in fine form (56 per cent strike-rate in the last two weeks) and is represented by Mosalim in the 8.15 at Chelmsford. The promising three-year-old showed signs of ability last season and there looks to be more improvement to come after being gelded.
