Sweetspots: Cox looks likely to strike with High Horse on debut

Clive Cox has a 43 per cent strike-rate with two-year-old debutants at Bath, with Royal Ascot winner Heartache one of the winners. High Horse goes for the trainer in the 5.45.

Saeed Bin Suroor’s overall strike-rate of 18 per cent improves to 30 per cent with first-time geldings. Leader’s Legacy (4.10) goes for the trainer at Wolverhampton – a track where Bin Suroor has a good record.

Tony Carroll is 3-8 when applying first-time blinkers. Nouvelle Ere (6.40 Brighton) gets the aid for the first time. He looks the sole pace angle in the race and, while he hasn’t shown much recently, he is now 9lb lower than his last winning mark.
