Sweetspots: Course specialist Barye can score in cheekpieces
Barye (2.55) is a three-time course winner at Lingfield, with two of those wins coming over this distance. He ran well in first-time cheekpieces in France last time out and with connections sticking with the aid he can go close.
Nigel Twiston-Davies and Daryl Jacob have an impressive 86 per cent strike-rate when teaming up at Haydock. Ravensdale goes for the pair in 1.00. He was impressive on hurdles debut here last time out and gets those conditions again.

Theligny goes in the 1.50 at Newbury, a race the gelding won last year. His sire’s progeny have a solid strike-rate on heavy ground, so the fact he hasn’t raced on worse than good to soft should not be a negative. There looks to be more to come from this six-year-old.
