Nicky Henderson is in good form and has a particularly good record with his horses at Doncaster. He boasts a 40 per cent strike-rate at the venue and the pick of his four runners is Countister (12.30), who is highly regarded and can win here before going on to better things.

When John Gosden sends two-year-old debutants to Newcastle it’s worth taking note. He has an impressive 44 per cent strike-rate with such horses at the course. Without Parole (3.35) is his representative and the son of Frankel is closely related to impressive all-weather and dirt performer Tamarkuz.

Colin Tizzard sends just Kilbricken Storm (2.30) to Cheltenham today. He won at Wincanton last time and the trainer has booked Harry Cobden for the ride. The pair have an eye-catching 33 per cent strike-rate when teaming up and the gelding should enjoy the step up in trip.
