North: Richard Young

Skipthescales (3.45 Carlisle, nap)

Amazing performance to maintain his unbeaten record over fences at Newcastle last time and has a big chance from a 5lb higher mark, especially as there is room for improvement in the jumping department.

Others to follow
Carlisle: 2.10 Midnight Walk, 2.40 Le Drapeau, 3.10 River Glades, 4.15 Pistol, 4.45 Divine Port, 5.15 Stainsby Girl.

Lambourn: James Burn

Lil Rockerfeller (2.50 Fontwell, nap)

Admirable hurdler who won this race in 2016 and was second last year. It is safe to say this has been a major target and he will be running for the first time since a breathing operation so could produce a big effort under Bryony Frost.

Others to follow
Fontwell: 2.20 Whatswrongwithyou, 3.25 Shannon Hill, 4.55 Corrany.

West Country: Andrew King

If The Cap Fits (2.50 Fontwell, nap)

The drying ground and step back up in trip will be in his favour. He can take this prize before being aimed higher later in the spring.

Others to follow
Fontwell: 1.50 Heluvagood, 2.20 Amour De Nuit, 3.25 Zafar, 3.55 Ostuni, 4.55 Jeremiah James.

Racing Post Ratings: Steve Mason

Zafar (3.25 Fontwell, nap)

Has shaped well on both his hurdle runs, threatens to be suited by this longer trip and, crucially, receives a 10lb weight allowance from his elders.

Topspeed: Dave Edwards

Lough Derg Farmer (3.45 Carlisle)

Below par last time but ran well here in December and can belatedly get off the mark over fences.

Longshot: Sam King

Stowaway Forever (2.30 Naas)

A good second to Poker Party at the track four weeks ago and he's now 7lb better off with that rival. The drying ground and more positive tactics can ensure he can go well at an each-way price.

Ireland: Tony O'Hehir

Midnight Run (5.05 Naas)

An easy winner on his debut at Galway in October before finishing second to the smart Envoi Allen at Navan in December, the Joseph O'Brien-trained five-year-old has strong credentials for this five runner bumper and can get the job done under 5lb claimer Tom Hamilton.
