Strong-finishing Pichola Dance stays a step ahead of rivals

Overlord looked in trouble when turning for home in the opener at Kempton, but the 8-1 chance rattled home for an unlikely victory after trading at 420 in running on Betfair. His strong finish denied 11-2 joint-favourite Iballisticvin, who had been matched at a low of 1.37.

Pichola Dance came under pressure entering the straight in division one of the 7f maiden at Kempton but Andrea Atzeni’s mount kept on strongly, fending off the challengers to defy a high of 80. The 9-2 winner was followed home by 6-4 favourite Dubai Dunes and 6-1 shot Ghadaayer. That pair touched 1.21 and 1.47 without getting to the front.

Jealika traded at a high of 95 on her way to landing a gamble in the 6f handicap at Listowel.
