Stablemate could prove a danger to festival contender

Credit: Edward Whitaker

Yanworth
2.45 Wincanton
SP forecast 4-6

Beaten just once in seven starts, Alan King’s seven-year-old is a high-class individual. He suffered a minor setback after landing his first Grade 1 in the Christmas Hurdle at Kempton in December and this will blow the cobwebs away before a tilt at the Champion Hurdle. He is well clear on ratings but is up against progressive stablemate Sceau Royal, to whom he must give 4lb.
Conclusion Today’s trip could prove sharp and the improving Sceau Royal, who had excuses last time out, looks capable of serving it up to him. Lay.

Cue Card
3.35 Ascot
SP forecast 4-9
A chaser of the highest class, Cue Card looks to get back to winning ways after being beaten by Thistlecrack in the King George last time out. He is dropping below three miles for the first time in nearly two years but he still has plenty of gears and this looks the perfect preparation for another Gold Cup tilt.
Conclusion Top-class 11-year-old who was not at his best in the King George but even a repeat of that will be good enough to win today. Banker.
