Southwell Placepot picks: Robbie Wilders tackles the £100,000 guarantee

It's over to Southwell for the £100,000 Placepot pool on Tuesday and Kim Wexler is an ideal candidate to hit the frame in the opening 5f handicap (5.00) after a series of solid recent runs over this trip on the Tapeta surface at Wolverhampton.

The two who make most appeal in the next (5.30) are the Mick Appleby-trained Mehmo, a course-and-distance winner who is thrown in on past form, and Aikido, a formerly smart sort for Ger Lyons who is interesting dropped to 5f.

The following sprint (6.00) looks a decent opportunity for Colors Of Freedom, who bids for a hat-trick and might remain ahead of the handicapper.

The 1m4f handicap (6.30) is wide open with six or seven holding decent chances, but I'll stick with the well-treated Blow Your Horn.

The six-year-old has shaped better than the result on both starts for Ian Williams, twice encountering traffic problems at Lingfield.

Berkshire Breeze will surely be odds-on in the 1m4f novice stakes (7.00) but is no world-beater and I'll chance Deadlock to cause an upset.

Deadlock produced a performance of real promise amid greenness when staying on into second on his debut at Kempton 11 days ago.

Walking On Clouds and Ravenswing are selected in the final leg (7.30). Recent 6f winner Walking On Clouds is thriving and should be fine over 7f, while Ravenswing ran his best race for Archie Watson last time when bouncing back to form at Kempton.
