Alfaatik is reported to have impressed on the Al Bahathri gallops and is now equipped with blinkers, which is interesting given his trainer John Gosden has a 35 per cent strike-rate with runners wearing such headgear for the first time since 2018. Gosden has landed this race nine times, although the son of Sea The Stars doesn't have a typical profile of a Clarehaven winner having only won an ordinary maiden at Chelmsford in December. The vast majority of the colt's siblings were successful in Italy including at Group 1 level.

Bangkok had three quick runs in the space of a month last autumn gaining important experience. He returned in good style in the Doncaster maiden where the 2009 winner Above Average was runner-up. The form looks decent, with the second and fourth winning since.
