Harry Skelton's worst Cheltenham ride? It wasn't on My Drogo

I can’t say I know Harry Skelton well but I’ve met him a couple of times and have been incredibly impressed with the way he thinks about racing and his mentality.

He seemed to be incredibly level-headed and not the type of bloke who would get too up with a win or too down with a loss. Having tipped racehorses for 20-odd years now, I know how he feels to some degree, and I could see by his reaction when Nube Negra won the Shloer Chase at Cheltenham on Sunday that he had been under pressure and that win was his release valve, despite having ridden a winner the previous day.

As far as I’m concerned, Skelton did nothing much wrong on Shan Blue or My Drogo in high-profile races recently but of course you’re open to criticism if the horse you’re riding falls when it’s going to win.
