Graeme McPherson boasts a 38 per cent strike-rate when sending out runners fitted with a first-time tongue-tie. Kayf Blanco wears one today and looks a lively outsider in Sandown’s feature (3.00).

George Downing gets on well with Poetic Force having won three times from three rides on Tony Carroll’s gelding. He takes the mount again in Chelmsford’s 7.15 and is one to keep on side in a competitive heat.

Morning Reggie won Sandown’s 4.45 last year and takes his chance again today off a 4lb lower mark. Although he has struggled a bit since, the handicapper has given him a big chance and he could well bounce back to form.
