'She is not a 25-1 shot' - Owen puts up his two Friday Newmarket selections

2.25 Newmarket
1pt each-way

Some people will chastise me for putting up an each-way selection in a six-runner race, but Tagline is not a 25-1 shot and I'm willing to overlook the diminished place terms.

She posted an RPR of just 74 when making it second-time lucky at Windsor in June and was sent off at 25-1 for a course-and-distance Listed race last month. Last off the bridle, she became unbalanced when ridden and once she was organised, the bird had flown.

The bird was Lezoo, who she finished just under two lengths behind and was gaining on all the way to the line. She needs to prove she can back that up, but Rod Millman's horses are in great form and if she does just that, she has a huge chance of making the frame.

Tribal Art
3.00 Newmarket
1pt each-way with firms paying six places

Running well without his just rewards on the turf this year, Tribal Art deserves his day in the sun and his run at Royal Ascot two starts ago was really taking.

He ran a screamer in the Ascot Stakes at 40-1, travelling well throughout and only running out of petrol in the final strides. He subsequently pulled up in the Northumberland Plate but that is best ignored, as he lost all chance by rearing as the gates opened.

He remains on a dangerous mark of 96 as a result and dropping back to this trip should prove ideal for him. He goes well on a firmer surface and I think he has excellent claims with six places on offer with a number of firms.
