Sedgefield Placepot picks: Richard Birch with a manageable Tuesday perm
Kavanaghs Cross rates an opening-leg Placepot banker when he contests the maiden hurdle (12.40) at Sedgefield.
His last-time-out Cheltenham third in an 18-runner handicap stands out at this level and Niall Houlihan makes the long trip north to maintain the partnership.
Kaphumor, an impressive winner on his first start for Sue Smith at Hexham, will relish the step up to 3m3f in the staying handicap chase (1.10) and should prove difficult to beat.
Obey The Rules brings the best recent form to the 2m1f handicap chase (1.45) but don’t rule out the five-year-old Deerfoot, who could benefit from a favourable weights make-up under just 10st 6lb.
Grand Enterprise, a model of consistency with latest form figures of 124233, will appreciate the good ground in the conditional and amateur jockeys’ handicap hurdle (2.15) and should register another top-three finish.
Coup De Gold, whose Sedgefield second to Geromino has since been boosted by both the winner and third, Just Call Me Al, merits inclusion too.
Lady Chuffnell and Aire Valley Lad may dominate the 2m3½f novice handicap chase (2.45), while 123-rated Irish raider Kendancer will surely take the concluding novice hurdle (3.15) if he settles better than on his last visit.
