Salisbury Placepot tips: Graeme Rodway with his perm on Dick Poole day

The opening mile handicap (1.50) at Salisbury is a wide-open race and it’s worth including two of the nine runners. Maokai stayed on well to score at Chepstow last time and looks sure to be suited by this stiff track, while Bugle Major is down in trip and should run well.

The mile novice (2.20) looks a match between Circle Of Fire and Tabaretta. Narrow preference is for Circle Of Fire, who kept on well over 7f on his debut and a mile will suit.

The 7f fillies’ maiden (2.50) features some promising horses from top stables. Doom is a well-bred newcomer for William Haggas and she goes in, along with Quantum Light.

Maria Branwell is one of my best bets of the day in the feature race, the Dick Poole (3.20). She looks sure to appreciate the stiff finish here and already boasts a high standard of form. Bank on her.

The 6f fillies’ handicap (3.55) is another open race. Ryan Moore is booked for the in-form Makarova and she looks sure to run well, but it might also be worth including Al Simmo.

Only seven line up in the mile handicap (4.26), and with only two places available it won’t be easy to negotiate. Grey Fox is sure to run well and Cabinet Of Clowns is also consistent.
