Salisbury Placepot tips: Graeme Rodway with his perm for the Wiltshire track

The Placepot at Salisbury is dominated by races confined to juveniles and, while they make little appeal for win bets, they should be quite easy to narrow down from a place perspective.

The form horses don’t set a fearsome standard in division one of the mile novice (1.25) and it’s worth going with newcomers Tony Montana and Bluestocking, who are from top stables.

Similar comments apply about those with form in the second division (1.59). Again it might pay to stick with the newcomers and Island Star could go well. Diamond Dreamer is next in.

Bresson sets a clear standard in division one of the 7f novice (2.34) and rates banker material, but two will be needed in the second division (3.09). Secret Solace and Ribal appeal the most.

Only two places will be available in the 6f conditions race (3.44) and maybe the consistent Bolt Action is a safer option than Wallop. Bolt Action has been placed on five of his six runs.

Beyond Equal is one of my best bets of the day in the 6f handicap (4.19) and should go well, but the consistent Spanish Star is also included.
