Richard Birch relies on solid form in bid to crack Tuesday's Lingfield Placepot

Maxine probably sets the standard in terms of form in the opening leg (12.40) of the Lingfield Placepot.

Yet while she is likely to again give her running, it wouldn’t be a surprise if one or two rivals improved past her. Fast Emma could prove the pick.

The well-drawn Melody Of Life ran well on both his starts as a juvenile. A reproduction of his Chelmsford second would make him hard to beat in leg two (1.10).

A revival from Sword Exceed, who won over course and distance last January off a 6lb higher mark, can be expected in leg three (1.40) with the Ivan Furtado team in fabulous form.

Low-weighted Hey Ho Let’s Go should also give a bold account.

Simon Dow, another bang-in-form trainer, has a strong contender in leg four (2.10) courtesy of Twentysharesofgrey, placed on four of her last five starts and partnered for the first time by 7lb claimer Laura Pearson.

Top-weight Jennivere, whose rider Marco Ghiani takes off a valuable 5lb, is the other to focus on.

Uncle Bernie and Ballydoyle are chosen for the penultimate leg (2.40), while it’s hard to ignore hat-trick-seeking Passional, another good ride for Ghiani, in the final leg (3.10).
