Richard Birch offers his advice to crack Fakenham Placepot

Mount Windsor bolted up in a Lingfield handicap hurdle last Tuesday, and was eased considerably for a six-length success.

Nathan Brennan’s 10lb claim wipes out the 7lb penalty, so the Chris Gordon-trained five-year-old rates banker material in leg one (12.33) of the Fakenham Placepot.

Gleno and Finalshot, the latter likely to improve considerably for his Wincanton reappearance, are the pair to concentrate on in leg two (1.03), while Go Chique and Midnight Ginger appeal in leg three (1.33).

Many will have given up on Getaway Trump over fences after his disappointing performance behind Fusil Ruffles at Cheltenham.

However, this 152-rated hurdler is trained by Paul Nicholls who can be relied on to get the best out of him again some day.

That could well be with the aid of first-time cheekpieces, and I prefer him to likely favourite Happygolucky in leg four (2.03).

The two course-and-distance winners, Midnights’ Gift and A Little Chaos, rate ideal candidates for leg five (2.33), while Muilean Na Madog, who appeared to throw away a winning opportunity at Lingfield last Tuesday, could still be hard on the bridle at the last in leg six (3.03).
