Pat Chamings' five-year-old has a patchy record over the last few months, but it might be significant the pick of his runs over the summer came on his debut at the Chelmsford venue.

Although only fourth of seven, Perfect Alchemy didn't enjoy the clearest of runs up the inside rail in the home straight and was beaten just over two lengths at the line. That was his best run since winning back-to-back races at Lingfield in February.
