Rely on the leading stables to supply the bankers at Naas

It's the self-styled Cheltenham trials day at Naas, a meeting unlikely to be crawling with festival clues, but some interesting fare nonetheless with a nice bit of quality interspersed.

The opening maiden hurdle (1.30) is a competitive affair. Despite a string of seconds to his name, All For Joy will get it right some day and has to be included. Momus disappointed last time but on the best of his maiden form would be entitled to go close, while the most likely winner looks to be Fast Buck who only found the Cheltenham Festival-bound Fakir D'oudairies too good for him at Cork on his only hurdles outing so far.

The four-year-old handicap hurdle (2.00) is a new addition to this card with a couple of interesting handicap newcomers. Lignou disappointed here last time but previously had been beaten just five lengths in a Punchestown maiden hurdle won by Gardens Of Babylon, a race that has worked out very well. He is an interesting handicap debutant, and is joined by the more experienced Coral Blue, touched off in a desperately close finish here two weeks ago.

The Grade B novice handicap chase (2.30) is a trappy race and the temptation is to put in too many of them. We will narrow it down to Kildorrery, who should have the race run to suit and is reunited with a claiming rider who seems to get on very well with him. Poker Party was impressive in beating one the reopposing Stowaway Forever in a similar contest here last month and looks the most likely winner, while Uisce Beatha improved to win a beginners chase over 2m1f at Fairyhouse and looks likely to appreciate stepping up in trip.
