Promising novice hurdler can take advantage of lenient mark on handicap debut

It's been a slow start to the season for Sue Smith but there are definite signs that her horses are beginning to find their stride and in Oscar Wilde, she appears to have a well-handicapped hurdler on her hands.

Oscar Wilde bumped into some of the better novice hurdlers last season and ran with great credit on numerous occasions. His form tailed off but that means he returns on a fair mark and with improvement likely, he should be very competitive in the James Ewart Racing Handicap Hurdle at Carlisle (3.00).
