Promising Murphy fillies indicators of a good summer to come
Trainer: Joe Murphy
10th, 6f maiden, Naas, April 13
The Fethard trainer has yet to strike form this season, but a couple of nice performances from his runners over the past couple of weeks are positive indicators for the summer.
This filly, unraced at two, made her debut in a Naas maiden that should provide its share of winners. She was awkward out of the stalls and was behind from an early stage, but made some progress after halfway while looking green. She looked as though she would benefit tremendously for the experience.
There is a mixture of speed and stamina in her pedigree but it looks worth persevering over this sort of trip for now. She is likely to find considerable improvement.
Gealach
John Oxx
5th, 1m2f maiden, Naas, April 13
The new John Oxx-Patrick Prendergast alliance has yet to bear fruit, but a few performances suggest that will change shortly. This gelded son of Sea The Moon was unraced last year but there was plenty to like about his debut.
