Given that he won eight times in France, he really ought to have developed into a better horse than he has, but his handicap mark has at least plummeted to near basement level and there has been promise in two chase outings.

He'd have been closer than his ten-length third to Flaming Charmer in a much better race than this at Chepstow on his return and he looked like he found Exeter's stiff track too much for him last time (looked tired when unseating), at least at the trip.
