The step up in trip and opportunity to tackle all-aged company in a handicap for the first time make Pointel of considerable interest in Kempton’s 32Red Handicap (8.20).

James Fanshawe’s progressive colt has raced exclusively at 1m2f in four starts to date, confirming the promise of placed efforts in two Windsor maidens when getting off the mark in a classified stakes at Nottingham last month.

The son of Le Havre took a while to master Tap The Honey, but duly did so inside the final furlong and was firmly on top at the finish.
