Progressive colt hasn't reached the limit of his talent

Churchill (135) remains clear top-rated for this year's Epsom Derby, but in terms of ratings very little changed after his sixth consecutive success in the 2,000 Guineas on Saturday.

Aidan O'Brien's colt needed only to replicate his best two-year-old form of the Dewhurst to prevail at Newmarket, but the over riding feature of his career to date is progression and it would be a surprise if a RPR of 121 is the limit of his talent.

Pour Moi and Ruler Of The World were able to win the Derby by producing exactly that rating but the average winning RPR over the past decade is just over 125, a level that is likely to be within Churchill's compass.
