6th, 2m maiden hurdle, Kilbeggan, April 30
This gelding by Wareed failed to win in four point-to-point starts and was pulled up on heavy ground on his track debut in a Clonmel maiden hurdle in December, but his second track start at Kilbeggan was much more promising.

He raced close to the pace and moved up on the outer with every chance before the swing in towards the final flight. Then he met a bit of interference, which cost him momentum, and in the end his rider didn't knock him about when his chance of winning had gone.

It was a fair run and a first glimpse of some promise. He's probably a chaser in the making and ground on the easy side of good probably suits him well, and he could well be good enough to win a maiden hurdle at a venue such as this.
