Plumpton Placepot picks: Tom Collins shares his 24-line for Monday's fixture

Chris Gordon has won the opening 2m novice hurdle (12.30 Plumpton) on this card for the last two years, and the Hampshire-based trainer has a great chance of bringing up the hat-trick with Aucunrisque.

A repeat of any of his last three starts should see him take this prize and enhance Gordon's impressive 22 per cent strike-rate (25-112, +£11.36 to £1 level stakes) with hurdlers at this track in the last five years. Select Aucunrisque as a banker.

The following novice chase (1.00) has attracted only three runners, but topweight Nassalam and the enthusiastic For Pleasure both have sound claims of winning. You can leave out Kid Commando.

Suzi Best has a couple of solid chances on the card and I can't envisage The Trampolinist finishing outside the places in the 2m4½f maiden hurdle (1.30).

Course winners I See You Well and Mister Murchan have strong claims in the featured 3m1½f chase (2.00) after quiet reappearance runs.

The Best-trained Global Wonder and unexposed Lusitanien are selected in a tricky penultimate leg (2.30).

Talking of tricky, there's little recent winning form on offer in the closing 2m3½f handicap chase (3.00) and it could pay to play safe. Hopes lie with course winner En Coeur, well-handicapped Guguss Collonges and likely outsider Firenzo.
