It always takes a leap of faith to back a 19-race maiden, but every horse has their level and this seven-year-old has been placed off significantly higher marks than he runs from today. He is well handicapped and might now be able to make the breakthrough.

Anna Newton-Smith's gelding recorded two of his best efforts over course and distance, finishing second behind today's rival Leith Hill Legasi off a 15lb higher mark here in November last year and filling the same position off the same rating in January. A reproduction of either of those runs would give him strong claims.
