Perth Placepot picks: Dave Randall with a perm for a tricky card

The Placepot could take some solving at Perth despite the small fields.

Only the winner will do in the opening four-runner 2m4f mares' novice hurdle (1.00), but it will be disappointing if we don't get through with last-time-out winners Happy D'Ex or Lady Stanwix.

Two places are up for grabs in the five-runner 2m handicap chase (1.35). The well-treated Check My Pulse and course-and-distance winner Sword Of Fate are selected.

Course winner Native Fighter and recent Market Rasen scorer Giovanni Change are the suggestions in the 3m handicap hurdle (2.10).

Bavington Bob excels at trips around three miles and goes in alongside the Gordon Elliott-trained Quantum Realm in the 3m handicap chase (2.45).

Course-and-distance winner Idilico is relied upon in the 2m4f handicap hurdle (3.20). He didn't run very well on the Flat at Musselburgh last time but can bounce back here reverting to hurdles. The form of last month's course success has been franked.

Monsieur Co is also better judged on the pick of his chasing form rather than his recent efforts on the Flat. He can make the first three in the 2m4f handicap chase (3.55), while Darius Des Sources was going okay when unseating here in July and is also included as he drops back in trip.
