Paul Kealy's play of the day at Aintree

2.05 Aintree

Since he joined the training ranks, Christian Williams has developd a reputation as a brilliant target trainer and Five Star Getaway gives the impression he has been laid out for the Becher Chase at Aintree.

The eight-year-old was a huge eyecatcher on his return when fourth at Bangor over an inadequate 2m4f, and he won second time out in both 2020 and 2021.

Five Star Getaway improved for the step up to 3m last season, but was dropped back to 2m5f to have a look at the Grand National fences in the Topham Chase for his final outing in April.

Although he never got involved at the business end, Five Star Getaway didn't look to have any trouble with the fences and it was simply a case of the trip being too short on ground being quick for that track.

This 3m2f trip is going to prove right up his alley, and I expect him to be finishing well on the long run-in.
