Paul Kealy takes on the shorties in his Exeter Placepot perm
Plenty of runners in the opening leg of the Exeter Placepot (12.35), but the key race is almost certainly one from Uttoxeter last month which featured a 1-2-3 or Pure Bliss, Gazette Bourgeoise and Cocquelicot.
The last-named needs to get her jumping together, but cheekpieces might help, she will stay this trip very well and she can make the most of the weight she receives from Pure Bliss.
In the next (1.05) Dock Road has easily the best hurdles form on offer, but Karl Philippe has shown serious talent in bumpers and ought to take the beating assuming he can jump.
Only seven go in the next (1.35) and while Momella arguably has the best form, she lost her way after a fall a couple of seasons ago so might not take well to being brought down last time out.
Vienna Court may well be a match for her anyway, and she shaped well when third to a classy pair in Listed company at Bangor last month.
Brinkley is probably the one to beat in leg four (2.05), but he does have an absence to overcome and has had a wind op, so I'll take him on with main fancy Hooligan, and Trans Express who ran really well when second on deep ground here last month.
Leg five (2.40) is one of the most competitive races of the day, and while the well-treated Innisfree Lad is going to be popular, he could well blow out on this quick return and I'm happy with my two each-way bets Le Boizelo and Arthur's Gift.
The last leg is just as hard but Tudors Treasure should go well. He pulled up on his return at Ffos Las but probably needed it and he has won the last three times he has run at Exeter.
He can go in with Indian Harbour who has run to a reasonable level in relation to his handicap mark on his last two starts.
