Paul Kealy tackles the Tote Placepot at Doncaster
is fancied to run well at a price in his third race back from a break, but he goes in a competitive opening leg of the Tote Placepot at Doncaster (1.00), so needs some back-up.
Brianstorm is the obvious one, but he's returning quickly on his second run after a break (which didn't go so well for Zalvados), so I prefer the claims of , a commanding winner last time at Catterick and a heavy-ground winner on this track last February.
In the next (1.32), was a bit disappointing on his hurdles debut, but that's arguably still the best form and his bumper efforts suggest he will be doing a lot better anyway, so he looks banker material for the frame.
is considered a lively outsider for leg three (2.05), but it's certainly not a race to bank in. Indeed, it looks far more open than the odds suggest, and my second selection will be , who is a massive 25lb better off with Ibleo for being beaten just over ten lengths last February.
In leg four (2.37) Progressive is very much a favourite to take on, and and are the form fillies.
Nicky Henderson's can get the job done in the next (3.10) though. His disappointing hurdles debut defeat doesn't look so bad now considering what the winner has done since, and Sprinter Sacre's brother still has loads of potential, with a first-time hood to help him settle better.
and Tortuga Bayare the suggestions if we're still with a chance of getting the bet over the line in the last (3.45).
