Paul Kealy has a banker in the first leg of the Placepot at Sandown
Sandown offers the most appealing Placepot opportunity and it could be worth taking a chance and banking on Indian Raj in the opening 5f handicap (4.20).
The Stuart Williams-trained six-year-old bounced back to form when second at Newmarket last month and he's 3lb lower than when scoring at this course last July. Oisin Murphy, who rode him then and is 2-3 on him, is back on board.
Konchek is the main bet on the card in leg two (4.55), but it's really hard to see Magic J finish out of the frame, so he goes in as cover.
In the next (5.25), Eye Of Heaven bids to atone for a dismal effort when only 7-4 for the Norfolk at Royal Ascot. He could easily bounce back, but he's the type you want to try to get beaten in a Placepot.
His bare form doesn't put him a mile ahead, so I'm going with impressive Doncaster winner Ubettabelieveit, who quickened up really well to pull nicely clear last time.
In the fillies' maiden (6.00), those to have run haven't shown a vast amount (best RPR 65), but the unraced one don't make too much appeal. The standout for me is Jazzi'O, who did a lot wrong early but was strong late when third to Tanfantic at Windsor on her debut and will relish the extra furlong.
It should be banker time in leg five (6.30) with Saeiqa, whose Coventry Stakes third is by a long way the best form on offer. He does have some interesting rivals but it will be a surprise if three beat him.
A modest big-field three-year-old handicap closes proceedings (7.00), but Rains Of Castamere and Ivadream should give us a run for our money.
Rains Of Castamere will see out the trip better on this better ground after running well at Haydock last time, but Ivadream has been shaping as though he needs to go up to 7f.
