Cormier was beaten just over eight lengths when second in the Swinton on his last run over hurdles in May but he didn't get the best of runs and was clearly the second best.

That form has worked out well anyway as two-length third Camprond has won two of his next four and bolted up in the Grade 2 Persian War, while the fourth Rowland Ward was a good fourth in the Silver Trophy at the same Chepstow meeting recently.
